Kaare Andrews' foil variant for Avengers: Armageddon #1 puts you at ground level behind Wolverine — three sets of claws slashing up through the foreground, sparking against a storm-black sky — while the heavy hitters surge in behind him. Captain Marvel, Namor, the Thing, Sam Wilson's Captain America with the shield raised, the Vision, Iron Man. It's a wall of Marvel's front line captured mid-charge, and the foil stock catches every one of those claw sparks and shield highlights when you tilt it under light. Under the cover, this is the launch of Marvel's summer event. Chip Zdarsky's story starts with Red Hulk — Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross — carving a path across the globe, forcing a gathering of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, the Fantastic Four, Wolverine and more to answer it.
