The Warhammer 40,000 Adeptus Mechanicus Hastarii set is a multipart plastic kit that builds five Hastarii — heavily armored Skitarii heavy-weapons specialists who lay down withering firepower in service of the Machine God. A disturbing fusion of human and machine, the Hastarii march implacably across the battlefield, their bulky frames shrugging off enemy fire as they unleash devastating energy weapons on the foes of the Omnissiah. This is a brand-new addition to the Skitarii line, filling the design gap between regular Skitarii and the heavier Ruststalkers.
On the tabletop, the Hastarii are a tough, flexible fire-support unit, and the dual build lets you tailor them to the threat. Built as Exterminators, their eradication casters disrupt targets at a molecular level, grossly maiming or obliterating massed infantry, while their arc blasters can even dent armor. Built as Fusiliers, they wield armor-destroying neutron fusils to crack the enemy's heaviest assets. Either way, their thicker armor makes them forgiving and durable — a reliable backbone for an Adeptus Mechanicus gunline, and a natural ally for Imperial Knights.
For hobbyists, this is a gorgeous, detail-rich kit. The mix of cybernetic machinery, flowing fabric robes, and glowing sci-fi weaponry makes the squad a joy to paint and a perfect canvas for neon energy effects and weathered, oil-stained metal.
