In the nightmare future of the 41st millennium, Humanity is on the brink of destruction. The brutal Orks, some of mankind's most relentless alien enemies, are fighting the valiant Space Marines in a desperate war that will decide the fate of entire star systems.

The Warhammer 40,000 Starter Set is the place to begin with 11th Edition. It contains everything two players need to start playing, including two complete Combat Patrol armies. A Combat Patrol is an army sized for fast, accessible games, and it gives each player a solid core to keep building on.

The Space Marine Combat Patrol is led by a Captain with Relic Shield and a Librarian. They command five Intercessors and five Vanguard Veterans with Jump Packs, with a Land Speeder for fast support. The Ork Combat Patrol answers with a Warboss, a Weirdboy, a mob of 20 Boyz, 10 Gretchin, and a Wartrakk tearing across the battlefield.

Every miniature is push-fit, so you can build the whole set without glue. The Captain, Librarian, Vanguard Veteran Sergeant, and Land Speeder crew come with head options, so you can build them helmeted or bareheaded. The Land Speeder can be armed with an onslaught gatling cannon or a heavy flamer.

The box also includes the battlefield: 15 pieces of terrain and two game boards. The Starter Set handbook teaches the rules as you play with easy-to-follow guides, and the full Core Rules book is there when you're ready for more. Reference sheets, range rulers, and dice complete the set.
